The Club
Swindon Manor Indoor Bowls Club has been born out of Swindon Oasis Indoor Bowls Club. In 2012 Swindon Borough Council sold the management of the Oasis Leisure Centre for redevelopment. It was decided that indoor bowls did not feature in the new Oasis. The committee of the Oasis bowls, along with the Council looked for a new home for the bowls club. After a lot of work from both parties a home was found and modified to fit 4 rinks in a unit on Cheney Manor Industrial site. Hence the new name of Swindon Manor IBC which began life in it’s new home in October 2012.
The club is owned and run by club members. All aspects of day to day running are carried out by volunteers. Over the time it has been running much work has been undertaken to improve facilities in the club. Further improvements have now been undertaken which will give bowlers an improved experience when playing or socialising
The club runs numerous leagues throughout the week, both morning, afternoon and evening. There are leagues to suit all, ladies, men or mixed. The leagues are always looking for new teams or the opportunity is available to join an existing team.
